Drago meets Null at Mercer Estate

Drago, battered and handless teleports to where he thinks Valen is, the Mercer Estate.

The estate is in terrible condition. It is surrounded by chainlink fence and bears battle scars from energy weapons fire. There is a large sign outside that reads “QUARANTINED”.

Drago asks Valen what he thinks of Ronin trying to kill him. Valen is very disturbed and says “You cannot die for it is fortold by Kymnarkmar himself that the spawn of Styphanthal’s blood shall play a role in the last battles” Valen also tells Drago he got his packet of entrance paperwork into the Tolkeen School of Magic, but it was destroyed in the firefight with the Police. Drago teleports to the school and gets another packet which he is told will open in 24hours…
Valen says “…the police attacked the estate and drove us inside. We now squat in the estate which is somehow protected by a TW Sanctuary spell. Half of my followers were slain in the battle, we only survived with the protection of the MAGE’s Nymph Nymphette and her faerie friends.” The faerie mound behind the house is over 10ft tall at the moment with a huge weeping willow tree and pound beside it, all seems well there but no movement can be seen.
Then Null drives up. Drago quickly explains, and to the happy prayers of Valen and his followers to Kymnarkmar for their luck, Drago loads the surviving 51 followers and refugees into the Behemoth. A few bums wont leave and drago bodily ejects them from the estate, blocking the exit with Create Wood.
They travel west to the Temple of the Tree…

On their way past the Fargo Hive crater, they notice two stubby structures being built at the bottom of the crater near the hole. Shortly after 6 warriors attack! null Fire four plasma minimissles dispaching three and then swats two while drago distracts and kills one with a spear. The Behemoth has taken 183 SDC points of damage. It has pock marks from Xiticix gunfire and one large pair of slash marks from a Xiticix’s swords.

They then make it to the Temple of the tree safely.

Drago gives the Bonecruncher’s Diamond, pendant (3c saphire) and Aquamarine circlet to Null.

You’ve Won a Trip to Madtown!

Mad Town. Haven to many refugees, CS rejects and wanderers tired of the oppression found in the CS controlled lands to the south and east. This is all Iggy knows of the place he was given a ticket to shortly after being discharged from the Coalition Military 31st Psi Batalion.
Sitting in the parking lot of the Chitown discharge department waiting for a tranport, Iggy honestly beleived it was luck when a tall man in black came up to him with a wolfish smile and declared “Congradulations, YOUR A WINNER!” and handed him the ticket he now held.
The man had seemed so confident, so sure that Iggy would enjoy a vaction to his dream home in the exclusive Mad Town Grove Lake District. He claimed he was with the Rivereen department of commerce and that Iggy had been selected to travel there for free to see the barony’s fineries and experience the “ultimate luxary”.
Looking down at the ticket somewhat glumly Iggy read the bright green pamphlets letters slowly once more. “They said I needed a vacation” Iggy muttered, running his eyes over the slick font of the flyer.
“CONGRATULATIONS!”
it says at the top boldy in a huge font.
And then not so big:
“YOUR A WINNER!”
Underneath in smaller type a paragraph reads:
“You’ve won a free trip to the luxurious Mad Town! Resort town and escape from the drudgery of the wastelands, Mad Town invites you to one week of free entertainment. Let us make make your stay the best it can be!”
And then below it reads “Courtsey of the Madtown Board of Commerce, Mizereen Barony.”
As the engines of the transport grind up the last hill of its long westward journey, he stares in wonder at the sign, bullet ridden but still legible in American, Dragonese and Gobbley “Welcome to Mad Town! A Mizerreen Barony Production. Enjoy your Stay! 30mph Speed Limit. Visitors Guide on 91.5fm
The transport which dropped him off was even grimier than the decaying building standing where it comes to a halt. After stepping down and gathering his gear Iggy watched the rusty vehicle lumber off with the wheeze only an alcohol powered relic like it could make.
Across the broken pavement of the street stood the unmistakable neon of a sign buzzing in the still air. In red letters a sturdy looking storefront blazed “Ye ole Pawn Shop”. Below the sign was a clear pictogram image of a the outline of a man handing a small sack through a window.
To the left of the sign is a placard which says “We Buy Gold”.
To the left of the shop is a vacant lot where vegitation is slowly overtaking what clearly are the ruins of some ancient building.
In the lot is a dead tree covered in grafiti surrounded by a number of human, and ape and pig like d-beees. They seem to be standing around the tree smoking and chatting to each other. All are wearing arm bands or some other piece of clothing depicting a monsterous skull with jagged teeth at the bottom.
Iggy turns away from the buzzing neon and looks at the decaying building for which he has been given two keys to open. Three stories high of nondescript brick, the building seems ancient, maybe even dating to the before times… The Front door is heavy wood and a strange carving in the stone above it reads “United States Post Office”. A long row of windows is boarded up and the front door seems scuffed and charred. Upon walking up and examining it Iggy noticed a decaying rat lying in a pile of discarded Jolt Cola containers. Attempting to use one of the keys on his coalition issue keychain, Iggy notices that something is broken off inside the lock. *DAMN them* he curses under hisbreath, looking around the building for other ways of entry.
There appears to be none on first glance. Actually, Iggy though come to think of it the building seems to have been fairly heavily barricaded in the front area. *hmm thats odd* iggy thought nervously.
Walking around the side of the building Iggy noticed a strange molten metal proturbance sticking out of the poored concrete corner. “I wonder what that was” Iggy thought iddly as he slowly walked around the left side of the building. In doing so he walked along a side alley which opened up into what looked like a parking lot. Upon the side of the building here was written in red paint “praise the Crimson King”. Also something else was written there but it has been scrubbed away and can no longer be read.
In the lot is one rusted heap of a vehicle. Approximately 30-40feet long and seemingly using 6 tires, the huge boxlike vehicle in the alley has no tires remaining and cobwebs can be seen through its many shattered windows.
Around back he saw another huge boxlike vehicle in worse shape than the one in front. There was also a loading dock of some kind which has since collapsed and now lilts halfway into the back driveway, a ruin of twisted metal and crushed concrete. Past the ruble however Iggy thinks he spots an opening in the wall…
Iggy scratches his head, slowly walking towards the rear of the building and warily steping around peice of rusted metal which jut up from their crumbling concreat mountings.
“With all this news of the pending war, mysterious skeleton raiders heard to be sweeping into tolkeen territory.. More terrorist attacks against the empire and the mages on the move every day… ah wonder if its a coincidence me being sent here on vacation at a time like this…” Iggy thought doubtfully.
Reading the back of the card he again read the address of where he’d told to transport operator to take him to “You’ll be spending 7 fabulous days and nights at 777 Fault Drive, Madtown. Rivereen. The commerce board is not responsible for death or dismemberment incured during your stay. Please use the attached keys to enter the flat and make yourself at home! A tourism board representative will be by the following morning to inform you of the many attractions you’ll have a chance to visit during the week.”
“Well if this is the place, ah suppose ah best find a way inside” Iggy though, checking his gear and starting towards the opening at the top of a crumbled pile of rock and rusted junk. Looking down at the sand he noticed small indentations from seemingly tiny feet and nothing more. “Lets just hope its rats” Iggy thought, stepping up to the opening. “hmm its a bit too small” he though, pulling away at some of the bricks and enlarging the hole.
Suddenly there was a screeetch and the sound of flapping wings. Pulling away from the opening Iggy grabbed for his weapon and readied himself for the worst.

The Seige on Tolkeen campaign session two wrapup

Ronan the cybernight received a emergency call from the refugee camps to the east and left the party (sorry Lee you wernt around this weekend hehe).
This leaves us with Drago the hatchling, Kash the elf mystic and MAGE the bioborg linewalker.
Drago was cursed in session one by stonegiants, in order to finish their mission intime Kash communed with a nature spirit and in return Drago was cured at least somewhat, seemly linked now to a new sapling which has grown at the most peculiar of places.
The tree had grown to 12 feet tall, directly along what was once a nexus, now only a leyline. The second leyline pointed directly into the heavily radiated coalition base the PCs just destroyed, arising suspicion that somehow the CS is trying to unlock the secrets of the leylines and learn if there is a way to weaken them.
A sudden leyline storm poped Drago, Kash and the captured scientists into the CS burbs, there they ran on an adventure GMd by J, finaly they stablized and poped back to the tree.
Once back their return seemily caused a strange floating phenomena, as everyone rose 10ft in the air and started blowing away from the area of the tree. This saved all the NPCs lives as shortly afterwards 2 medium range missles slamed into drago as he hungon to his tree for dear life.
After a short firefight with some CS troops on Skycycles who mysteriously apeared, everyone retreated with Rez to Orionville.
There Rez hoped to locate a radio transmiter strong enough to send word back to the league of the captured scientists and strange experients going on with leylines out west.
Kash dropped Peek off at one of the few permanent buildings in town, and manged to find a tip from a strange woman on a transmiter.
She lead the party into a trap (he failed his roll), taking them outside of town to strange hill where her and two other vampired attacked. Once destroyed they found a shack at the top of the hill with a gibbering insane man inside watching static on the TV he had.
Returning to town Kash tried his hand at streetwise and managed to find a guy with a laptop who when bribed gave up the name “Space Time Kid”, supposedly this “kid” would have the needed transmitter.
The kid was easy enough to find behind his broken down Mountaineer, he indeed had the transmitter but his price was a task. Kid does a lot of electronics work in Orionville with the locals and while he doesnt much care for them they do make him rich it seems, and when he kept hearing compliants of disapearances latley he finally got annoyed enough to start thinking about checking out the creepy hill outside of town that stands over a cave known to be a haven for evil in the area.
So the price for the transmitter is “go in that damnable cave and bring me the head of whatever beastie is eating up my customers!”.
The PCS go back to the hill, and underneath they find the cave. After fighting some more vampires they encounter a Archfiend. There is a pitched battle but finaly the beast is slain along with its evil shifter master.
Returning proof of their deed to Kid, the Pcs are able to send a message to the league back in Tolkeen.
A few minutes later Rez gets the following message from someone online at the league:
Incoming encoded radio message from dialectric, TCDL cypher activated and the line is secure:
yer CS eggheads gotta be worth at least 20k to the Tolkeen authorities for intel reasons. With the war on I say bring him in and turn the bastard over, the rest of the league agrees. Get him back here asap, your gonna have tails left and right as this guy seems to be one hot potatoe.
So, the PCs rush off to tolkeen in a hover truck to be delivered to a friend of Kid’s, Big Richie.
While Rez is gone dropping him off and collecting the reward, Drago gets a psychic message from his long lost friend Kathmandu.
“you mus return to the root of your power, it is in danger!”
Teleporting back to the tree, he sees the Atlantean with forced bionic conversion lies greviously wounded. After the tree appeared a indian TP along with 2 braves and unknown inhabitants had appeared.
When he returns on of the braves ushers drago into the TP, where he learns the elders were trying to remove the implants when one exploded. Now they can do nothing but continue a life healing chant to keep the man alive.
And thats pretty much where we stopped!
So many unanswered questions eh?
What dark secrets will the Tolkeen authorities uncover from the interogation of the CS scientist?
Who is the strange atlanean and why does he mutter about incarnations and prophecies of great power whenever Drago walks by?
Why can’t MAGE pick a name that doesn’t remind me of a Dog named Dog?
Find out the answer to these and more questions in the next session!

  1. Drago Says:
In male feline humanoind form, Drago quickly turns to Kash to ask, “Can you try to summon the great spirit that gave me the magic sappling?”
  2. zim Says:
Drago ONLY says that? If he makes a Lore Magic role he knows mystics can only open themselves to ANY receiving supernatural beings in the area, it is not a power that just lets you reach out and touch the being of choice, rather the beings out there choose YOU.
Kash and MAGE are waiting at a Tolkeen fast food joint with a neglected looking sign hanging crookedly outside which reads \\\”Franks furters\\\”.
Across the street lies big Richies auto garage, where he is seen to be putting the final touches on the paintjob of the hover caddy he wants the PCs to deliver to the Space Time Kid on their way back west.
You notice a small boy with a crude bionic but seeminly new and well maintained pincher arm staring at the cat-man as it seeminly pops into existence. After hiding behind a pile of refuse watching Drago and Kash banter on about the finer points of demon-delving, the boy creeps up and says to the group
\\\”Spare somethin? I am hungry!\\\” He then rubs his stomach patheticaly with his good hand and makes clicking and whirling begging motions with his artificial one.
  3. Drago Says:
(apparently there was some miscommunication. after talking to nate, this is what happened: Drago and Kash sped back to the magic tree where they found the tee-pee right next to the tree. inside the tee-pee the indians were tending to one of the dying prisoners. Drago and Kash tried helping the prisoner with light healing magic and other means. when all else failed, Drago asked Kash to keep watch of the magic tree while he teleports back to Mage and the others.)
“Mage, we have a dying prisoner with the indians on the ley line. The indians tried to remove his cybernetics. They claim that one exploded while others remain inside him. He is near death. Kash nor I could do anything to help him. Without immediate intervention he will surely die.
The tree has also been damaged as the area appears to have been bombarded by the callous Coalition. Kash remains with our poor tree next to the tee-pee. Any ideas?….Prrr”
  4. zim Says:
Rez, having returned while Drago was flying to the tree frowns at the bad news.
He clears his throat, nervously adjusting his leather gloves. He takes a ragged breath and opens his mouth slowly, waiting a moment before finaly saying in a quiet voice:
\”He will probably die unless given care by a cyberdoc skilled enough to disengage the bionic anti-removal countermeasures. From the look of those indians they dont know a nerve scan transducter from a toadstool, and if they keep digging around on him one of the still active devices could blow them all to next week… You guys know any cyber docs willing to travel through all that wasteland?\”
    Rez looks very worried.
Drago while paying attention to Rez you feel a sharp pinch on your leg.

Tolkeen Civil Defense League Communicator

Lately I’ve been tivoing alot of Teen Titans. In case you havnt noticed they are a big inspiration to the Tolkeen Civil Defense League. (that and efu’s Civil Defense League!)
All official members of the league are issued a real communicator, they just about the only thing that keeps them together sometimes, as many members are located in distant coalition controled lands.
Upon receiving the communicator the lucky recpient is considered formaly a member of the group. It is estimated that over 200 have been issued so far however many are lost. This does not worry Rez or the security minded much however, because they simply will not work for anyone other than their original recipient, and any messages sent by a person say under the stress of torture or with militious intent are sort of flagged with the emotion of the sender. This gives the other members a sort of psychic heads up if the messages normaly sent by a calm headed one start having suspicion or fear or other emotions mixed up in them. Note this feature also only works if the character has at least some psionic abilities.
They are manufactured by the technowizard named Rez, and provide the following things:
- access to the league’s computer network. The badge works as a key and is required to access the leagues message boards and file storage. Simply plug it into your personal computer, and you can pull up various information (just ask!).
- time sensitive keys for coded communications to other members in range via one of the following:
short range radio (10mile range)
long range directional radio (100+mile range depending on external antenna and amplifier used)
Ley line transmissions can also be sent encoded so other walkers on the line can not read them without the communicator. Training in this type of communication is requried by the user. At the minimum the user must have some psionics or be a spell caster in order to use this feature.
It is rumored that many members along with the founders of both the league and art brutal are notorious computer hackers who have gained access to many restricted files from the Coalition, the Tolkeen ruling party, and the black market.
Often members will post stolen information on the forums for use by other members in outright attacks, practical jokes or other plots against the Coalition.
Here is a sample posting
From: liberator_of_beef
sh.pmqnt ov coaltion beef on route through cordinates 114.343 some 200clicks outta loanstar, 0500hours Sepmbr23. anyone up fer some rastlin? Hey gecho!
(players in my game feel free to make a “post” in one of the comments to ask other members of the league stuff. Maybe I will start to intro npcs this way!)
Making a post on the league’s underground forums requires terminal access to Tokeens computer network, or a leyline can also be used. The T complex the league secretly operates in downtown Tolkeen is a strange looking building, which actualy serves as a giant antenna array as well as a concentrator of leyline energy for use in decoding messages sent. Note there is a chance or garbling or distortion of the messages posted and received when using leylines instead of normal netowork communications. However it is completely anonymous which many members like.
Using a leyline to commicate long distances may not work, its mostly used in the outerlying region of the Tolkeen area and directly ajoining leylines.
Here’s what the badge looks like! It weighs a suprisingly heavy 2lbs, and has a nice heavy golden finish to it.
25MDC in its durable outer casing (100SDC/PV6 for our converted rules).
The internal works are a mystery and there is a very stern NO OPENING writen on the back in American, Spanish, Gobbley and Elven, along with a pictoral NO TOUCH sign.
However Rez tends to talk about them absentmindly almost as if they were alive muttering something about them lasting about 24hrs before needing a “breather” which can be one of the following:
-conventional power can be used to recharge in 5x slower thanreal time (5hr plugin for 1hr use.
-leyline/personal ppe/energy can be used, the device will recharge in one hour on a leyline or if funneled 25ppe/50isp.
note- MAGE, Kash, and Ronan each have one of these. Feel free to post a comment of what momentous task you did to impress a member so much that you were asked to join. :-D
